~Kenyon's Story~

Image

It all began on March 17th 2006, St. Patricks Day.  I was 22 weeks pregnant and it had been a perfect pregnancy.  I went to work like normal and felt fine all day.  Toward the end of the day I felt a little cramping but nothing out of the ordinary.  I got home from work around 3:15 and started to get ready to go to my parents house.  And then it happened ---at 3:45 my water broke!!!  I was in complete shock and home by myself.  Frank was at the NCAA tournament games in Dayton when he received my phone call.  He called our friends to see if one of them could take me to the hospital---luckily Matt was home and he rushed over to our house with his two year old daughter:)  We arrived at the hospital and I was immediately taken to labor and delivery.  The staff all assumed Matt was my husband--this became very comical.  The doctor confirmed my water had broke and proceeded to deliver the bad news:  "Most women deliver within 48 hours and the baby would not survive."  Well God had other plans for us, I made it passed the first 48 hours and stayed on hospital bed rest at St. Ritas for 10 more days!  I then was transported to Miami Valley because I was close to 24 weeks.  Again I was on bed rest and hoping it would be for awhile.  I received two steriod shots to help Kenyon's lungs develop at 24 weeks.  A few days later Kenyon decided to come into this world.  It was a very fast labor and delivery.  At 1:28 pm on April 4th, 2006 our little miracle boy was born.  God had decided this was the time for Kenyon to bless us all with his presence.  He weighed only 1 lb. 10 oz. and was 13 1/4 inches long.  Although he was small, I knew in my heart he was a strong little boy and that he had God on his side.

He continues to amaze us all---to see how Kenyon is doing click the blue updates link.

Kenyon now has a new little sister he adores. She was born on 2/11/2008.  She weighed 7lbs. 3oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long.  She was only 3 weeks early!
